For all of you who drool over the coveted Glossier products and follow “Into the Gloss” religiously, you may be continuously envious of those who have access to the New York based brand. But fear not my friends from the 6ix! The Glossier has come to you for a short one week period this September! I caught the opening day of the pop up shop on the corner of Queen St. W and Fennings, just west of Ossington, on September 8th and I battled the crowd to get my hands on Glossier products for my first try!

I’m all for shopping online, but I’m super old school when it comes to making a commitment. I need to see it and feel it and smell it before I’m willing to fork over the dough. So for brands such as the Glossier that do most of their sales online I remain a loyal admirer but never really a customer. That is until Emily Weiss in all her genius decides to bring her amazingly popular brand to Toronto! I mean, who wouldn’t love the entire city of Toronto begging for more?

As I walked down the street and saw groups of girls passing me in the opposite direction laden down with Glossier bags I was getting more and more excited. Then there is was. Set back from the road was this adorable pink shop! Once you walked in it was a little confusing to tell the truth. Pink sheer curtains hung from the ceiling everywhere and you had to part curtains to find your way into the counters. They had three counters with a sample of each of their skin care products, three tables with samples of each of their makeup products, and about six or seven ladies in adorable pink jumpsuits and white adidas that took your order on an ipad. Five minutes later your order is handed to you at a cute little red cubicle at the back.

Customers were lining up in a long queue that snaked all around the shop but surprisingly I didn’t have to wait longer than about 15 minutes before I was at the front of the line. Adorable fan girls were taking a ton of pictures in a cute couched area and with the adorable backdrop of pink walls and mirrors. I totally selfie’d, something I haven’t done in quite some time. Overall the atmosphere was amazing and perfect for enviable instagrams. And the whole place smelt of roses!

Since I’m new to the Glossier products I started with “Phase One Set”. This three piece set includes a 177ml bottle of the Milky Jelly Cleanser, a 50ml tube of the Priming Moisturizer and 15ml tube of The Balm Dotcom which I chose in the flavour of coconut. Seeing as I’ve never used the products before I’m going to give it some time before I set out on a full review, so stay tuned.

Be sure to catch the Glossier popup shop in Toronto before it closes on September 14th! This is your chance to test out these products and get sucked into the amazing fandom of Glossier! Have any of you been to the shop before?
