My good friend had a birthday this past week, and as she is the Queen of Sangria I thought a nice themed gift was in order. The perfect opportunity for me to craft, personalize, and design with my Cricut Air2.
I got the inspiration on Pinterest, of course, to make Sangria in a jar. I got a large drink dispenser from Walmart, used my Cricut to cut metalic pink vinyl and decorated the dispenser with “Sip, Sip, Hooray!”. Then I found a great Sangria recipe from Williams Sanoma and put all the ingredients in the jar! So simple! So easy! And so appreciated!
What are you favourite DIY gifts to give?
Hi friends! It’s finally starting to feel like spring here in Toronto. A bit too late for my liking, but winter held on tight this year. As my spring cleaning kicks into high gear, I’ve decided to take some time to refresh this space of mine; something that is a long time coming.
As I have grown up in the blogging world, as well as in the real world, my purpose and desires have changed. My life got busier and my love of makeup got sidetracked, so I therefore put the blog aside. I have new passions, but my love of writing and sharing is still prevalent, and I regret not evolving the blog along with me on the way. But fret no more my friends, I’m here to shake things up again.
Now, I know many follow these musings because of your love of beauty reviews, lookbooks and wishlists, so I know you may move on to other blogs to get your fix. I still have a love of a good lipstick and will share my thoughts when they arise, but what I want to share with you is everything else I do. My DIY obsessions. My knitting, calligraphy, cricut projects, embroidery, and everything else I’m itching to learn! I hope you all stick around!
Still many many many days away! But that’s okay because all of this time is giving me the opportunity to plan for as much DIY as possible for the Wedding Day. One of the reasons Corey and I are putting the wedding off until 2018 is monetary (we’re trying to buy a house) and because of that I’d love to save as much cost as possible for the big day! So why not try to do as much as I can on my own?! So, on a regular basis, I turn to Pinterest. Follow along with my wedding boards here.
One of the most exciting things that I’m trying to learn will be a huge help for so many DIY projects when the time comes! Calligraphy and/or Modern Script. From invitations, save the date cards, place cards, signs, etc, Calligraphy is an elegant feature that could become quite a hefty cost if you were to commission it. So why not learn how to do it yourself? Truthfully…I thought this was going to be a lot easier. (more…)
